HOPE

Monday, December 06, 2004

on my 22nd birthday, i would like to:
1. call my grandma
2. move my bed away from the scary window (scary because racoons like to poke their noses at it)
3. call the doctor
4. pick up the cd i won. oh i just did that. The Music's 'Welcome to the North'. oh i already have it OF COURSE so i just gave it to Andres who's coming to the show with me
5. email happy birthdays to tanya and catherine
6. do all my dishes in the dish bucket in the kitchen
7. amidst the stress of essays and exams, celebrate, even if only for an hour, with my closest friends at a nearby watering hole

just for fun, let's flashback to exactly a year ago:

damn.
i just realized i left my mobile at home and maybe, just maybe, people might be trying to phone me
damn.
i've just put in Idlewild's 100 broken windows and now i won't be able to concentrate...
hey mole
nearly got run over by the Australian Pink Floyd Show tour bus on my way to the library...
my last few hours as a 20 year old were shitty. at least i was in a shitty mood. went to work for a couple of hours and was SO frustrated with you know who.. does she think she gets paid to stand there?!?! anyways.. then i got home and saw something i wasn't supposed to see. a big-ass chocolate cake that maria and shrina made for me. it then sat with me in the common room (where it's damn cold) for the rest of the night while i blasted music and read all about interest groups and the European Union...
then i ushered in the big 21 with The Music. :) my last few minutes as a 20 year old were spent listening to 'Getaway'. it's been said before, but i'll say it again.. it's REALLY difficult to concentrate on work when you've got Phil Jordan drumming in the background...
BUT, maria and shrina got home and i was treated to a shoulder massage while watching Nash Bridges. (!!) that didn't last too long and so i hit the sack and tried to fall asleep but was kept awake by chirping birds. at 2:30am?!! SO wrong.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

haha.
don't have a mobile anymore.
shrina, maria and i are all in different corners of the world now.
still infatuated with The Music and distracted by Phil's drumming.
instead of being kept awake by chirping birds i'm kept awake by animals scurrying around in the walls of my house!
